EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE TODAY VIA CBC
04 April 2018 (Toronto, ON) – Today, Juno award-winning Canadian rapper, Classified, premieres an impactful visual for his new track “Powerless” via CBC.
The track is written and produced by Classified himself and the video
is directed by Grammy-nominated and Nova Scotia born, Andrew Hines
(Logic, Big Sean, Kanye West, John Legend). “Powerless” is the first new music from Classified in two years, and the song’s powerful lyrics and narrative highlight the prevalence of child maltreatment, violence against women and Indigenous people, and the national inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG). The song’s cinematic music video was shot on the Millbrook First Nation Reserve in Truro, Nova Scotia and features a group of Mi’kmaq drummers and dancers wearing full regalia. The video documents various characters bringing real stories to life. Learn more about the stories shared and the performers featured HERE.

Canadian director, Andrew Hines shares: “Powerless is more than a song, and more than a music video because it is speaking to the topic of missing women and girls in the First Nation community and the sexual abuse of women from the Maritimes to British Columbia.”
“Powerless” is now available to buy/stream via Half Life Records / Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company.
Classified has become one of Canada’s most respected and successful rapper and producer.
