2 AUGUST 2017 (TORONTO, ON) – Grammy Award®-winning and multi-platinum selling artist The Weeknd has released a remix of his hit song “REMINDER” featuring Young Thug and A$AP Rocky via Republic Records/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. The remix comes on the heels of five 2017 MTV Video Music Award nominations, four of which directly celebrate his work on “Reminder” for Video Of The Year, Best Direction, Best Art Direction and Best Editing, in addition to the fifth and final nomination for Artist Of The Year.
The original version of “Reminder” was featured on The Weeknd’s fourth full-length double-platinum studio album Starboy, released late last year. The album quickly catapulted to #1 in over 90 countries, with the title track featuring Daft Punk breaking the record for “Most Release Weekend Streams Ever”. In less than a week, the single amassed over 17 million streams globally and 6.5 million streams in the United States, becoming #1 Most Added at Top 40, Rhythm, Urban, and Hot AC.
