ANNOUNCES SIGNING WITH UNIVERSAL MUSIC CANADA AND PREMIERES ALL THREE REMIXES ON UMUSIC
02 June 2017 (Toronto, ON) – Hot off the success of his debut single, “Four Leaf Clover”, which has now amassed over 1.4 million streams in Canada, Calgary-born newcomer singer/songwriter Christian Hudson
releases three remixes of the track for his fans and announces his
label partnership with Universal Music Canada (UMC), the country’s
leading music company. To celebrate the signing, Hudson premiered all
three tracks on UMC’s website, UMUSIC, today. The “Four Leaf Clover” remixes feature Klowds, Benny Benassi and Price & Takis. Check them out on UMUSIC here. After winning the Calgary Stampede Talent Search in 2015 and donating the $10,000 prize money to the Calgary Drop-In & Rehab Centre, the former competitive snowboarder got noticed not only locally or domestically, but internationally by his now manager, Raghav, who discovered him in an article about his generosity while riding the London Underground.
“Four Leaf Clover” is a heart-melting song about what a perfect relationship should look like, and the catchy tune helped Hudson nab the title of Bell Media’s Future Star of January 2017. The track’s MuchFACT-funded video was filmed in Ireland last summer. “It was a perfect week,” says Hudson, recalling the shoot locations in verdant hills and idyllic village settings. Watch it here.
While the remixes are the first of Hudson’s new music to be released on Universal Music Canada, he is excited about the partnership and what is to come:
“I feel incredibly lucky to be working with Universal Music,” says Hudson. “So many of the acts that inspire me are on their roster. As an artist the most valuable thing in the world is to have a team that believes in you and what you create. We’re working on a lot of new music and I’m really excited for people to hear it.”
Hudson describes his music as being “acoustic pop” with a minimal and organic sound. For the time being, look for Hudson to continue making the sort of shimmering, simple sounds that speak to the young and the young at heart.
