OCTOBER 17 RELEASE OF SECOND MEMOIR, A NEWFOUNDLANDER IN CANADA

23 JUNE 2016 (Toronto, ON) – The pride of Petty Harbour, NL, returns with a humidity-busting single, Summer Summer Night, available everywhere today. This call to the campfire is the first salvo from Alan Doyle’s third solo album, A Week at The Warehouse, set for release October 13 via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company.
Summer Summer Night was recorded at the end of this past winter at The Warehouse Studio, Vancouver, with legendary producer Bob Rock, a first collaboration for the best-selling author, actor, and Great Big Sea frontman Doyle. Originally scheduled to start album pre-production demos, Rock found Doyle and his touring band so stageworn, well-rehearsed, and tightly in-synch that demos weren’t necessary, the album recorded on the spot and largely live off the floor, capturing that in-the-moment magic, something of the immediate feeling one gets from seeing Doyle in live performance. Titling of the album required little deliberation.

This October 17, Alan Doyle will also release the follow-up to his best-selling 2014 memoir, Where I Belong, with A Newfoundlander In Canada: Always Going Somewhere, Always Coming Home. Picking up approximately where the last concluded, this book tells of Doyle’s first explorations outside of Newfoundland, experiencing the breadth of Canada for the first time.
