ANNOUNCES FULL-LENGTH DEBUT PLASTIC SOUL OUT THIS SUMMER
“(Plastic Soul) snappy, kinetic percussion and a swaggering coolness often lead to larger-than-life melodic explosions that recall Beck or U2.” – Consequence of Sound

MAY 19, 2017 (Toronto, ON) — Continuing a run as 2017’s breakout new rock act, Philly-born alternative troubadour and punk-folk renegade Mondo Cozmo shares his latest single “Automatic” today. Get it HERE.
On the new single he comments, “It’s a big fucking tune. I think it’s going to take over the world. It was all stream-of-consciousness.”
The highly anticipated follow up single to “Shine,” features a hidden guest sample by Charlie Walk (President, Republic Group). Mondo Cozmo used a drum sample from an Instagram video Walk posted of himself playing drums and used it as a foundation of the song. Listen closely; you just might hear it.
It’s the first glimpse at his forthcoming full-length debut album, Plastic Soul, due out this summer via Republic Records/ Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. The track arrives hot on the heels of a standout run supporting Bastille on tour this past spring where Mondo Cozmo performed in arenas all over the country. One of many tour highlights included performing with Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons who crashed their stage for a killer cover of The Verve’s “Bittersweet Symphony” in Las Vegas – see the video of the performance here. During SXSW, he recorded an intimate Spotify Live Session at the home of SPOON drummer Jim Eno, performing “Shine” and “Bittersweet Symphony” – check out the session here.
This summer, Mondo Cozmo engages a full-blown summer festival invasion, including two Canadian tour dates, below.
Meanwhile, his breakout single “Shine” remains a beacon not only in music, but the world at large. Surpassing 3.7 million Spotify streams and topping AAA Radio, the Samburu Girls Foundation in Kenya—a non-profit organization rescuing girls from child marriage, FGM, beading, and other cultural atrocities and provides education—recorded a video singing “Shine” during a English class – see video here. Earlier this month, the father of a fallen soldier shared a heartbreaking story with Mondo Cozmo. While driving home from the funeral, he believed his son spoke to him through “Shine,” and Mondo felt so moved that he etched the soldier’s name inside of his jacket – see story here.

TOUR DATES:
06/24 – Budweiser Stage – Toronto, Canada
07/16 – Festival D’ete International De Quebec
