JONATHAN ROY AND COREY HART TOP RADIO CHARTS WITH “DRIVING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS”
New holiday track tops Mainstream AC and Holiday Music Charts
New concert dates announced for 2017
According to both BDS and Mediabase, the
electronic systems that monitor actual radio airplay in North America,
Siena Records / Warner Music Canada recording artist Jonathan Roy has
this week hit #1 on the national airplay charts for both Mainstream AC
(beating out the likes of Bruno Mars and Maroon 5) as well as the
Holiday Airplay chart in Canada. Roy’s upbeat rendition of Chris Rea’s
“Driving Home For Christmas” is a duet with Canadian rock icon Corey
Hart. This is the first Christmas recording Hart has appeared on since
his classic version of “Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer,” released in
1985.

Roy has enjoyed radio success over the past
year with the Top Ten radio hit “Daniella Denmark” and “You’re My Ace”
(Top 5 in Quebec), both penned by Corey Hart. Jonathan recently
announced that his debut album, the nine-track Mr. Optimist Blues,
will be released on January 20, 2017. The album features both
“Daniella Denmark” and “You’re My Ace” as well as the new single “Good
Things” which is also scheduled for release on January 20. Jonathan
will perform a series of headlining concerts in support of the release
of Mr. Optimist Blues as well as joining the Philosopher Kings on tour in February. See all confirmed tour dates below.
Jonathan Roy is the son of hockey legend
Patrick Roy. Jonathan had grown up in his father’s footsteps, playing
goalie for the Quebec Remparts but his true calling was music. In 2013,
Roy was introduced to Corey Hart who felt an immediate connection with
the young singer and signed him to his Siena Records label partnered
with Warner Music Canada.
